A Week of Firsts

The lazy days of Summer have now come to an end for us. It feels like it went by way too fast, but I'm always excited to get back into a routine and love the idea of Fall and the holidays right around the corner. So I still can't believe that Grace is in first grade. She started a week ago and is loving it. She feels really cool eating school lunch and she has two new friends that she does everything with. It's taken the whole week for her to remember their names though, lol.

This past week I've been doing a TON of digital design stuff. It's been a lot of fun, but now I'm really wanting to do some sewing and Grace is patiently waiting for that pencil case I promised her. Oh speaking of sewing and firsts I made Grace her first lunch bag and yesterday she was super excited to try it out (and I was pretty excited too):

Kate has decided that she wants to be included at meal time. When it's time to eat she wants to be at the table with us and she's always trying grab food. So I decided that it was time to introduce her to the world outside of goats milk (another story). Here's her trying butternut squash for the first time. What do you think? Did she like it?

That night I also gave her some rice cereal and she was going crazy for it (of course I mixed some apple sauce in with it). She would start crying while I was getting more on the spoon because she didn't think I was moving fast enough. Crazy kid! I'm glad she likes baby food, but it also opens up a whole new world of messes for me to clean up :)

So that about all that been happening around here lately. The business is going great and Abby's not missing Grace too much while she's in school. Abby can play by herself for hours and be happy. Today is back to school night for Abby's preschool which should be fun. Hope life is moving along for you and I'll check back with you soon ;)

I'm glad to hear that someone else has a baby on goat's milk. Although Portia didn't quite make it to goat's milk she was on the last outpost of rice milk for a year. Now she just flat out refuses to drink any form of milk! Those darn picky (allergic?) babies! Good luck.
